About SociaOS
Last updated 2026-10-05
SociaOS is a self-hosted tool that one owner runs on their own server to publish posts they wrote themselves to their own social media accounts, for two brands. It is not a service offered to other people and it has one user, the owner. Nobody else can create an account.
What it does
The owner writes posts in a Google Sheet or in a Google Drive folder. SociaOS imports them, checks them against each platform's limits, schedules them and publishes them at the chosen time. It then writes the result, such as the link of the published post, back to the sheet.
- Google Sheets and Google Drive: reads the sheet and the folders the owner shares with it, and writes results back into that sheet. A separate, optional connection lets it save the nightly database backup into a folder it creates in the owner's Drive.
- YouTube: uploads the owner's videos to the owner's own channels and, for long-form videos, sets their visibility (public, unlisted or private) after the owner approves them.
- Instagram, Threads, X, Reddit, Pinterest and LinkedIn: posts the owner's text, images and videos to the owner's own accounts on those platforms.
- TikTok: posts the owner's videos and photos to the owner's own TikTok account once TikTok has approved this integration. Until then the owner posts to TikTok by hand.
Whose data it holds
SociaOS stores no data about other people. It holds only what the owner gave it: the owner's sign-in tokens for their own accounts, the posts the owner wrote and the media files the owner uploaded. It does not read other users' profiles, comments, followers or videos. See the privacy policy for the full list.
How to revoke access
The owner can remove SociaOS from an account at any time, in either of two ways.
- Press Disconnect next to the account on the Accounts page. SociaOS deletes its stored access at once. It asks the platform to revoke the grant only when the grant is identified and no other SociaOS connection holds it, which today is never, so also remove SociaOS in the platform's own settings.
- Remove SociaOS in the platform's own settings. For Google and YouTube that is myaccount.google.com/permissions. For the other platforms it is the connected apps or authorized apps page in the platform's settings, and for TikTok the app permissions in the TikTok app.
